Sue Hocker, Consulting Partner
Marketing Research and Strategy; Life Sciences
Sue integrates marketing and business expertise with a strong background in healthcare, life sciences, and clinical development to develop and execute marketing programs for new and existing pharmaceutical and diagnostic products. Her experience includes both strategic and tactical marketing for products from pre-launch through life cycle management. Sue has applied her marketing background to integrate effective patient recruitment programs into larger pre-launch, market development programs. She has worked with both product and service companies on business processes improvement initiatives, from diagnostic to implementation. At a tactical level, Sue has conducted commercial reviews of grant applications and business plans for new technologies; executed in-depth interviews and moderated focus groups to develop product, technical, and commercial strategies; and provided medical writing expertise for refereed publications, abstract submissions, written and verbal conference presentations, and educational materials.
Before starting her consulting practice, Sue served as VP, Patient and Clinical Communications for Parexel Medical Marketing, holding responsibility for global patient recruitment and retention. She has held marketing positions of increasing responsibility at Abbott Laboratories, Guilford Pharmaceuticals, and at the pharmacy benefit manager, Advance Paradigm (subsequently acquired by CVS).
Sue holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, an MS in Biochemistry from the California Institute of Technology, and a BS from Purdue University.
