Rafael combines information technology expertise with extensive experience in sales, vendor relations, quantitative analysis and strategic management to help C-level executives and their teams reach greater business scale and profitability. Rafael’s background encompasses designing and selecting software, integrating legacy and web technology, building sales and customer support systems , and performing due diligence for corporate and venture investors. His clients include Morgan Stanley, Thomson Financial, JPMorgan Chase, Advanta Growth Capital LP, and Dover Corporation. Most recently he led a four-year technology and operational outsourcing project to increase margins and streamline client services for a Morgan Stanley business unit. He coordinated a team of over 150 IT, legal, operations and compliance professionals to ensure technical strategies and infrastructures met business goals and complied with SEC, OCC, OTS and FFIEC regulations.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, Sherman Hill Group (www.shermanhillgroup.com), Rafael managed the New York branch of Barra International, a global financial software and consulting firm. Previously, he was a Systems Officer in JP Morgan’s Strategic Programs Management Group and a Sales and Systems Engineer at IBM.
Rafael holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BSE from Princeton University in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, where he received the Manfred Pyka Memorial Physics Prize. He has served on the Boards of the MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City and the Stanford Business School Alumni Association.
